You kind of have to be a fan of Epsom salt around here… but thankfully there’s good reason.

First, though, what is Epsom salt? 
Named for the place in England where it was originally discovered, Epsom salt is indeed not salt, but crystals of the mineral compound Magnesium Sulfate.   This means that it offers incredible health benefits; in fact, it’s far superior to sodium chloride in the tub.  Hint: if you see sodium chloride as the top ingredient in your bath soak and it isn’t Dead Sea Salt, then it’s likely cheap filler.

What’s the big whoop about Epsom Salt?

Tub or Foot Bath:  Pour 1 – 2 cups of Epsom salt into warm running water of your tub or foot bath.   Soak for at least 15 minutes but, for detox benefits, no more than 30 minutes.
To Exfoliate:  Combine a handful with olive or coconut oil to make a super skin-softening scrub.
