This is an alcohol-based product with glycerin for moisture.  It’s a liquid, not a gel, but most importantly, it’s effective.

Inspired by need, we did some research and quickly realized we had the ability to make hand sanitizer with items on hand.   Made with 95% ethyl alcohol, this item follows the World Health Organization’s recommended hand rub formulation.  The final product contains about 80% alcohol (the recommended percentage for hand use is 60%).

Washing with handmade soap is the most gentle and effective way to destroy viruses!  Hand sanitizers are not a proper replacement for hand washing with soap and water, but is indeed helpful when soap and water isn’t available.
